Beware of MPAC Knockoffs

Recently there has been an increasing number MPAC knockoffs entering the market as plasma cutters become more available to the average Joe. This has spawned a number of "replicas" of our MPAC system to surface. The majority are of a flat plate design that neither offers the structural integrity nor the functionality of a true MPAC rack. These backyard engineered products will claim to have been tested when in reality, no such testing has ever occurred.  While you may save a few bucks, the product that you buy may be defective or even worse...Dangerous!

A feature that is of particular concern is the complete lack of attention to ensure safely mounting racks designated for heavy tanks. They usually use some sort of cheap spacer through a flat plate with only 2 mounting points...this is neither safe nor effective.  At best, your tank will move and rattle. At worst...the tank may get loose and become a 30-50 pound missle in an accident. The MPAC heavy mounts use at least 4 factory body mounts or a complex billet mount to support these heavy loads. Your safety is of great concern to us, that is why we take the time to make sure the products are safe and have the appropriate warnings to ensure safe use.

The cheap spacer approach is also used for the lighter duty racks as well...the impending result is that over time these will loosen and you will have a rattling defective rack on your hands. It is a pretty similar concept to that cheap desk that you put together from Wally world. Springtail takes the extra effort to make the mounting points an intergral part of the rack so that there is nothing to loosen or rattle over time.

This same "flat plate" approach usually limits the capability of where MOLLE bags can be placed because of the inherently poor layout. Generally the grid layout is merely decorative and has not put into thought how MOLLE bags need to be secured to be safe or efficient.

While it appears simple, the MPAC racks require multimillion dollar equipment and extensive expertise to be manufactured. The accurate laser cuts and careful forming of the bends as well as the state of the art powdercoat process all require far more attention than the backyard manufacturer can produce.

All of our products are made exactly to our specifications; we do not accept low quality goods. Many of the MOLLE products out there may look similar to ours but in general are made of thin material or substandard stitching.
